He was predeceased by: his parents, Jay Zimmerman and Anna Zimmerman (Diegel); his wife Margaret Miller; his siblings, Katherine Zimmerman, Emma Burkholder, Clarence Zimmerman and Barbara Zimmerman; and his half-siblings, Roscoe Zimmerman and Hazel Pilbeam.
He is survived by: his children, Shirley Hamilton (Richard), Elaine Prentiss (David), Dennis Zimmerman (Monica) and Marcia Backus (Ben); his grandchildren, Jill Campbell (Karl), Lori Puehler (Ted), Chuck Prentiss, Ryan Zimmerman (Kristen), Alan Zimmerman (Lyz), Ben Backus (Lauren) and Julie Freer (Zach); his great grandchildren, Mitch Campbell, Madison Gray (Caleb), Mac Campbell, Garrett, Zach Puehler, Blake Prentiss (Sarah), Ashley Grime (Troy), Lukas, Hannah Prentiss, Colten, Case Zimmerman, Landon, Kenzie, Sean Zimmerman, Aria, Ella Backus and Clara Freer; and his sister-in-law Marilyn Ricker. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
