He was predeceased by: his parents, John Hartzell and Kathryn Hartzell (Hittle); his son Charles Hartzell; his former wife Frances; and his brother Richard Hartzell.
He is survived by: his children, Auneta Herr (Daniel) and Victor Hartzell (Cassandra); his wife Fran; his grandchildren, Amanda Hartzell (Tony), Andrew Ewing and Ashley Hartzell; his great grandchildren, Caiden, Maci and Trystan; and his siblings, Steven Hartzell (Pam), Janet Leis and Marilyn Smith (Tom). He is also survived by two step grandchildren and six step great grandchildren.
