He was predeceased by: his parents, Antonio Macera and Francesca Macera (Ferullo); his wife Janet Middleton; his grandson Trevor Hertzfeld; and his siblings, John Macera, Paul Macera, Florence Bacon, Dominic Macera, Mary Scarlato, Joe Macera and Mike Macera.
He is survived by: his children, Sue Chandler (Lewis), Andy Macera (Myrlene), Lynne Helman (Kevin) and Beth Hertzfeld (Brad); and his grandchildren, Chrystel Wilkins, Bryan Chandler, Francesca Macera, Gabriela Macera, Amy Giffor, Jessica Peart, Jennifer Brier and Taylor Studyvin. He is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be given in his memory to The American Cancer Society or the Toledo Humane Society.
