With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Russell Howard Strayer of Waterville, Ohio, born in Neapolis, Ohio, who passed away on July 24, 2023 at the age of 88. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard R. Strayer and Frances Strayer (Saul); and his brother-in-law Norm Tiplady. He is survived by: his wife Judy; his children, Tim Strayer, Ted Strayer (Dianne), Jeanette Saneholtz (Ron), John Pennell (Bobby Johnson), Amy Tomlin (Mark Bercaw) and Michele Pennell (Matt Kerwin); his grandchildren, Tim Strayer (Sandy), Amanda Strayer, Hannah Aldrich (Derek), Ciara Fisher (Sam), Eric Conklin, Andy Conklin, Shannon Downard (Devon), Nicholas Mattoni (Heather Love), Alysia Agler (Cody), Tyler Schutte, Luke Johnson and Justin Saneholtz (Kayla); his siblings, Donna Tiplady and Daniel Strayer (Betty); and his close friends, Terry and Sandy Stites. He is also survived by 14 great grandchildren.
Memorial contributions in Russell's honor may be gifted to the Liberty Chapel Church Building Fund, the Cherry Street Mission, St. Jude Children's Hospital, or to the Henry County Sportsman Alliance for the Russell H. Strayer Memorial Buck Trophy.
