He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Eklund and Jane "Betty" Eklund (Lentz); his brother Thomas Carl Eklund; and his grandson Christopher Yerkes. He is survived by: his wife Brenda Eklund; his children, Eric Yerkes (Brendie), Emily Yerkes (Stacey) and Ellie Selders (Jeremy); his grandchildren, Erica Yerkes (Jordan), Kaylee Burch (Dakotah), Aaron Yerkes, Ashley Selders, Gerrit Yerkes and Sarah Nash; and his sisters, Mary Jane Howell (George) and Kathryn Elizabeth Froom (Jim).
