He was predeceased by: his parents, Delbert Ira and Florence Bertha Miller Brooks; his siblings, Louise Evelyn Myers, Walter and Frank Brooks; his son-in-law Garry Styer; his grandson-in-law Thomas Barengo; his grandson Brant Brooks; and his siblings-in-law, Louise Hupp, Erma Whalen and Ralph Hupp.

He is survived by: his wife Lucille Hanlon; his children, Cindy Lea, Brenda Lea of Marietta and David Wayne (Tanja Leigh) of Waterford; his siblings, Delores Brooks of Marietta, Patty Cody of London, KY, Janet Wells of Whipple and Don Brooks (Sharon) of Marietta; his brother-in-law Clarence Whalen; his grandchildren, Jamey Styer, Troy Styer (Roxanne), Brandy Barengo and Sarah Ware (Andrew); his great grandchildren, Bishop Nunn, Johnathan Styer, Eric Michaud (Erica), Beth Michaud (Andrew), Miranda Michaud, Dominick, Bailey Barengo, Josiah, Joel, Luke, Asher Ware, Jaden Brooks and Logan Brooks; his nephew John Loring Hupp; and his grandchildren, Lyza Miller, Everly, Remington and Eriyah Michaud.

Due to COVID-19, services will be limited to immediate family only.

While battling Parkinson's he enjoyed golfing, bowling, and fishing on the Wii.
