He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, John Merritt and Ella Merritt (Downer); his wife Wanda Jane Washburn; his daughters, Debbie Self, Diana Merritt-Shriner, Linda Bernard (Russell) and Laura Lenhart; his grandchildren, Matt Bernard, Britany Morano, Lindsey Hummel (Ian), Brad Self (Erica), Ashley Foster (Joel), Cara Marples (Jason), Cody Self, Joseph Lenhart and Emily Shriner; and his great grandchildren, Sierra Stone, Cloey Self, Noah Nield, LillyBelle Nield, Colton Skinskie, Liam Hummel, Ella Hummel, Ava Hummel, Mia Hummel, Levi Nield, Oliver Adshade and Maelyn Marples.
