It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jay Edward Smith (Washington Court House, Ohio), born in Bloomingburg, Ohio, who passed away on October 25, 2024, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Dewey B. Smith and Louise M. Smith (Webb); his wife Sandy Kay Smith (Kelley); and his siblings, Ann Woods Smith, Joy Randolph and Wilbur Smith.
He is survived by: his sons, Benjamin G. Smith (Joni) and Andrew J. Smith (Janelle); his grandchildren, Keely, Marley of Alex, AJ, McKenzie and Jaidyn; his sister Jean Furniss; his brothers-in-law, Randy Kelley (Linda Ramsey) and Jeff Kelly (Belma); his cousin Ivan Webb; and his pet Betsy. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
Viewing was held on Wednesday, October 30th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Summers Funeral Home (223 W Market St, Washington Court House, OH 43160). A funeral service was held on Thursday, October 31st 2024 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Thursday, October 31st 2024 at the Madison Mills Cemetery (9400 Madison Rd NE, Washington Court House, OH 43160).
