She was predeceased by: her husband Everett Viars. She is survived by: her children, Beverly Carey (Doug), Wayne Viars (Donna) and Mark Viars (Lori). She is also survived by eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

The family has requested memorial donations be directed to Thelma's favorite charity - St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105-9959.
