He was predeceased by: his siblings, Myra Weber and Ken Koenig. He is survived by: his parents, William E. and Mary M. Koenig (Theis); his spouse Mary Jean Hines; his sons, William J. Koenig, Jr. (Karen), Eric Koenig (Sonia) of Lake Orion, MI, Kurt Koenig of Holly, MI and Trent Koenig; his grandchildren, Brett Koenig, Kyle Koenig, Joe Koenig, Lauren Koenig and Logan Koenig; his great grandchild Lucas Matthew Koenig; his siblings, Mary Alice White, Fred Koenig (Shirley), Melanie Morey (Rick) and Marcie Dubois; and his sister-in-law Ruth Koenig. He is also survived by many nieces & nephews.
