He was predeceased by: his parents, Amos Hicks and Barbara Hicks (Lawson). He is survived by: his wife Gloria K. Hern; his sons, Chad Hicks (Chris) and Dan Smith (Angela); his grandsons, Joel Smith and Elijah Smith; his great grandchild Dorothy; and his siblings, Dannie Hicks (Maralee) of Garett, KY, Ernie Hicks (Treva), JoAnn Slife (Bob) of Crossville, TN, Judy Westerbeck and Rita Scott (Larry).
In lieu of flowers the family has asked that memorial contributions be may directed to the St. Jude Children's Hospital.
