She was predeceased by: her parents, John Smart and Marjorie Smart (Carper); her husband Richard C. "Dick" Symonds; her sons-in-law, Mark Verdier and Steven Zink; her granddaughter Nicole Christian; her great grandchild Isabella Hernandez; and her siblings, Jack Smart and Carol Harshbarger.
She is survived by: her children, Gloria Verdier, Wayne Symonds of Cape Coral, FL, Gary Symonds (Chris) and Beverly Hurlburt (Joe); and her sister Phyllis Zimpher of Sidney, OH. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren & 16 great grandchildren.
