He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Leroy Acker and Fern Acker (Becker); his wife Nancy Groves; his daughters, Karen Rinehart (Bret) of Maple Grove, MN and Janet Acker (Paul Taylor); his grandchildren, Skyler Rinehart (Emily), Aidan Rinehart (Chelsea), Ruby Acker and Gillian Acker; and his sisters, Doris Larsen of Lakeview, IA and Elaine Lowe (Clifford).
