He is survived by: his children, Heather Homan (John) of New Bremen, OH, Amber Beckman (Mark) of Anna, OH, Chad Berning (Tara) of Botkins, OH and Brian Berning (Ashley) of Botkins, OH; his grandchildren, Candace, Caden, Cierra, Carter Homan, Mae, Grant, Ruby, Will Beckman, Bryce, Trent Berning, Madilyn, June, Ruth and Henry Berning; his siblings, Earl Berning of Sidney, OH, Carol Klinefelter of Ajo, AZ, Theresa Newland (Gordon), Lester Berning (Karen) of Sidney, OH, Brenda Niekamp (Mike) of Montezuma, OH, Dennis Berning of Botkins, OH and June Geis (Pat) of Botkins, OH; and his siblings-in-law, Erma Schmitmeyer (Walt) of New Bremen, OH, Rich Bergman (Connie) of Minster, OH, Ernie Bergman of Egypt, OH and Nancy Berning of Sidney, OH..
Visitation was held on Wednesday, December 18th 2024 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Thursday, December 19th 2024 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Eley Funeral Home & Crematory (1102 Lincoln Ave, Wapakoneta, OH 45895). A funeral service was held on Thursday, December 19th 2024 at 10:30 AM at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church (103 E Walnut St, Botkins, OH 45306).
