He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Barnes and Alma Ruth Copeland Barnes; his daughter Julie Ann Barnes; and his siblings, Darrell L. Barnes, Dorothy Burget and Donna Rader McMillen.
He is survived by: his wife Marilyn J. VanGundy; his daughters, Susan M. Koch (Fred) of Wapakoneta, Jill A. Ruppert (Chad) of Wapakoneta and Beth A. Graff (Matthew) of Spencerville; his grandchildren, Brooke Law, Morgan Law, Madison Ruppert, Abbigial Ruppert, Emily Ruppert, Reese Graff and Andrew Graff; and his siblings, Philip Barnes (BJ) of Florida and Linda Ford of Florida.
