He was predeceased by: his parents, Leonard Hershberger and Alta Hershberger (Hochstetler); his wife Lucille Fern Hershberger (Schmucker); his son Terry Hershberger; and his granddaughter Grace.
He is survived by: his son Greg Hershberger (Lois) of Mt. Joy, PA.; his daughter-in-law Julia of Republic; and his children, Barry Hershberger (Tanya) of Canton and Gail Thompson (Scott) of Mt. Vernon.
In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Piney's name to the Hiland Hawks Athletic Department, P.O. Box 275, Berlin, Ohio 44610 for what the family is hoping to be the start of an annual scholarship for Hawk basketball players.
