He is survived by: his children, Karole Shope (Paul), Penny Eischen and Linda Staifer; his grandchildren, Paul Shope Jr., Adrienne Shope, Vincent Eischen, Kyle Eischen, Angela Staifer and Christopher Staifer; and his siblings, Lois Blair and Merle Koenig (Sally). He is also survived by 7 great-grandchildren.
