He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Edgar Spencer and Arlene Spencer (Minut); his wife Marcia Spencer (Keirns) of Wakeman; his children, Joanne Willinger (Daniel) of Wakeman and Eric Spencer (Cherry) of Wakeman; his stepdaughters, Virginia Greer (Scott) of Hayesville, April O'Neill (Michael) of Clarksville, TN and Kristin Keirns of Kalamazoo, MI; his grandchildren, Robert Herold (BJ) of Eugene, OR, Sarah Willinger of Wooster, OH and Ethan Spencer of Wakeman; his brother Wayne Spencer (Nancy) of Mohicanville, OH; his brother-in-law Ken Hissong of Ashland; his former wife Sandra Spencer (Hanlin); and his siblings, Lynette Hissong and Gilbert Spencer. He was also cherished by 4 step-grandchildren.
