Houpt of Norwalk and Jay E Houpt of Somerset; his brothers-in-law, Mark E. Houpt (Michelle) of Cleveland, Ohio. and Robert J. "Boz" Houpt of Cleveland, Ohio.; and his stepfather Thomas McKernan of Knoxville. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
