He was predeceased by: his father Charles Scherry; his wife Patricia; and his brother Leonard. He is survived by: his children, Mary Huerner (Tom), David Scherry (Nancy), Kathy Ode, Cindy Scherry, Chris Scherry (Judy), Anne Deliman, Lisa Dickey (Todd), John Scherry (Tracey) and Mike Scherry (Beth); and his siblings, Gilbert, Gerry and Bernadette. He is also survived by grandchildren and great grandchildren.
