He was predeceased by: his parents, Colonel Edwin and Pauline Johnson; his son Douglas; and his siblings, Henry and Barbara.
He is survived by: his wife Eleanor; his children, Thomas and Carol; his grandchildren, Katherine (Graham), Keri (Rob), Claire (Clay) and Courtney (Shane); his great grandchildren, Margaret and Jackson; and his daughters-in-law, Sarah and Sheree.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations may be made to the Boy Scout Troop 402.
