He is survived by: his wife Shirley; his children, Dr. Dennis Thombs (Colleen), Patrick Thombs, Laura Maggio and Brenda Keller (Rob); his grandchildren, Dr. Ryan Thombs (Erica), Kent Yannayon and Jeffrey Yannayon; and his sister Stella Parker.
