He was predeceased by: his father Floyd A. Hassinger; and his siblings, Phyllis, Billy, Nancy, Raymond, Gene and Connie.

He is survived by: his wife Pat; his children, Barry Hassinger, Mike Hassinger (Peggy), Cheryl Hassinger, Craig Hassinger (Suzie) and Chris Hassinger (Hilary); and his siblings, Ruth Johnson, Patti Reichhart and Jerry Hassinger. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; five great grandchildren.

The family suggests memorial contributions to MCPAL "Medina County Police Activities League", 555 Independence Drive, Medina Ohio 44256.
