With heavy hearts, we announce the death of James Rivers of Wadsworth, Ohio, who passed away on September 27, 2023 at the age of 86. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, C. James Rivers, and Odessa Hazel Rivers, Sr. (Richardson); his sister Lily Sykes; his wife Gwendolyn "Starver" Rivers; and his siblings, Linton, Timothy, Raymond and Dolores Garner.

He is survived by: his sons, Socrates Jacksonville (Susan) and John (Gavin Morrow) of New York; his granddaughter Jasmine Rivers (Lee Green); his great grandchildren, Kailani and Ezra; his siblings, Elizabeth Robinson, Roberta Fields, Leroy Rivers (Brenda) of Zanesville, OH, Zipporah King (Stan), Karen Rivers, Sandra Dunbar, Charlotte Davis (Stanley) and Judy Sykes; and his sister-in-law Sue Rivers.

In lieu of flowers remembrances can be made to First Christian Church or Salvation Army of Wadsworth, 527 College St., Wadsworth, OH 44281.
