He was predeceased by: his wife Dorothy Merrix; his son Terry Merrix; and his parents, Okie Merrix and Lelia Merrix of Pembroke, VA.. He is survived by: his daughter Michelle Merrix (Kevin Gowens); his granddaughter Jacklyn Dean (Kevin); his great grandchildren, Tyler, Liam, Kingston, Isabelle, Ethan and Brycen; his nieces and nephews, Glenn, Rocky, Joe Cahill, Sandra and Wanda Cahill; his friends, Lila Duka and Dorothy; and also Paul.
