He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Ashby Smith Jr. and Jean Eloise Chapman Smith; and his nephew Rodney Barnes. He is survived by: his wife Marie Smith of Vincent, OH; his daughters, Hollie Fluharty (Nathan) of Washington, WV and Heidi Jones of Vienna; his stepchildren, Bobbie Davis of Vincent, OH and Billy Davis of Parkersburg, WV; his sisters, Diana Barnes (Jerry) of Leesburg, FL and Beverly S. Smith-Keil (John) of Edgewater, MD; and his nieces and nephews, Regina Barnes Jones, Sean Gilbert, Autumn Gilbert Macareno, Chrystal Gilbert Horst and Troy Gilbert. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren.
