Violet Elam Obituary
Violet "Purple" M. Elam, 65 of Vienna, W.Va., passed away at her residence on October 23, 2012. Violet was born March 5, 1947 in Wilber, W.Va. (Tyler Co.), the daughter of the late Alfred L. and Clarice I. Davis Britton. She was a homemaker and enjoyed the outdoors, wind chimes and collecting frogs and pigs. Her special love was spending time with her grandkids and talking and visiting with friends.
She worked at and enjoyed the Wood County Senior Citizens Assoc. Violet is survived by three daughters; Shawna Hathaway (Brian) of Lost Creek, W.Va., Tina Taylor (Joe) of Vienna, W.Va., and Deanna Alton (James) of Parkersburg, W.Va.; one son, Roger 'Bo" Brown, Jr. (Heather) of Williamstown, W.Va.; four sisters, Toby Weekley of West Union, W.Va., Rose Taylor of Parkersburg, W.Va., Velma Dillon of Belpre, Ohio and Brenda Wallace of Jacksonville, FL.: one brother, John Britton of Parkersburg, W.Va.; and seven grandchildren, Kylie, John, Isaiah, Aliyah, Luke, Matthew and Milo.
In additin to her parents she was preceded in death by two sisters, Connie Sprouse and P.L. Britton; one granddaughter, Mariah Barker; and one brother, Jack Britton. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, October 25, 2012 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home 3005 Grand Central Ave., Vienna, W.Va. with Pastor Wesley Vernatter officiating.
Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home and one hour before the service on Thursday.
