He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert W. Ulp and Alice Geneva "Genie" Ulp (Waldorf); his sister Marjorie Appleton; and his siblings-in-law, Eugene Goldberg and Donna Ulp.
He is survived by: his wife Lynn L. Ulp (Catlin); his children, Jennifer Bauman (Matthew) of Vienna and Jonathan Ulp of North Canton; his grandchildren, Andrew Bauman and Jordyn Bauman; his siblings, Janet Banner of Florida, Margaret Goldberg of South Carolina and William Ulp of Florida; and his brother-in-law Jerry Appleton of South Carolina.
