He was predeceased by: his parents, John L. "Brownie" Davis and Belva Samms Davis; and his brother Jerry Davis. He is survived by: his wife Sharon S. Davis; his children, James Davis, Jr. (Angie) of Wirt Co, Thomas Davis of Vienna, Tina Patterson (Roger) of Dallison and Shelly Godfrey (Brendan) of Rockport; and his sisters, Ruth Pruny, Becky Martin and Susie Davis. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren.
