Ivo F. Knapke Obituary
We are sad to announce that on March 11, 2025, at the age of 86, Ivo F. Knapke of Versailles, Ohio passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Aloys Knapke and Dorena Knapke (Bohman); his daughter Mary Ann Knapke; his sister Dolores Poeppelman; his brother-in-law Denis Rethman; his in-laws, Luke Schmitmeyer, Mary Evelyn, Louis Bruns, Ernest, Alma Schmitmeyer, Marian, Gregor Evers, Sr. and Lucille Schmitmeyer; and also Lucille Schmitmeyer.
He is survived by: his children, Anthony (Anita Knapke), Terrance (Kay Knapke), Susan (Christopher Heitkamp), Bernard (Nicole Knapke), Lynn (Brian McEldowney) and James (Katherine Knapke); his sisters, Janice (Charles Schwieterman), Gladys Rethman and Maria Stein; his brother-in-law Thomas (Mary Ann Poeppelman); and his in-laws, Eunice, Willard Dahlinghaus, Martin, Marie Schmitmeyer, Mildred Schmitmeyer, Ella Mae and Roger Watercutter. He is also survived by 24 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, March 17th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Tuesday, March 18th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home (555 S Liberty St, Russia, OH 45363). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Tuesday, March 18th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the St. Nicholas Catholic Church (128 Church St, Osgood, OH 45351).
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Ohio Hospice of Miami County 3230 N. County Rd. Troy OH 45373, Do Good Restaurant and Morgan's Place Cemetery.
