He was predeceased by: his parents, Wayne Sholes and Cora Sholes. He is survived by: his wife May Sholes of Vermilion; his stepchildren, Aimee Colahan (Brett) of Vermilion, Laith Khalaf (Beth) of Columbus, Saif Khalaf (Jane) of Mountain View, CA and Adrienne Kingman (Derek) of Walpole, MA; his grandchildren, Madison, Camryn, Kaitlin, Treyton Colahan, Josephine, Andy, Grahm Khalaf, Asher and Knox Kingman; his sister Barb Haynes (Bruce) of Sandusky; his nephew Nicholas Eastman; and his niece Kaylee Swanson.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to Shriners Hospitals for Children P.O. Box 1525, Ranson, WV 25438 or Mercy New Life Hospice 3500 Kolbe Road, Lorain, OH 44053 .
