He was predeceased by: his parents, John Mey and Martha Mey; his son Robert Mey; his siblings, Walter, Edward, John Jr. Mey, Helen Newkirk, Emma Griggs, Alice Herman and Pauline Holtcamp; and his daughter-in-law Connie Mey.
He is survived by: his wife Patricia Mey; his daughter-in-law Lori Mey; and his siblings, Ernest Mey and Barbara Smith (Ed). He is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Trinity Lutheran Church, 3747 Liberty Avenue, P.O. Box 2, Vermilion, OH 44089 or the Vermilion Lions Club.
