She was predeceased by: her parents, Jesse Arthur Gillespie and Vergie Lee Knight; her husband Charles J. Hyer of Sutton, WV; and her son John Charles Hyer. She is survived by: her siblings, Nancy Sheldon (Gillespie) and Charles "Chuck" Gillespie; her daughters, Sally Davis (Skip) of Ohio and Jane Hyer of Alaska; and her grandchildren, Megan Tansey (Kevin), Katie Manchin (Rock), Lauren Davis, John Davis (Christina), Lillian Tucker (Curtis) and Jessica Pringle.
