It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jay Samons of Vermilion, Ohio, who passed away on November 21, 2022, at the age of 97, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Solomon "Sol" Samons and Della Samons; his siblings, Edgar Samons, Verna Mae Conn, Carlie Gibson, Lois Boyd, Mavis Marston and Jean Halfhill; and his grandson Wayde Lafferety.
He is survived by: his wife Beulah Samons; his children, Judy Lafferty (late Virgil "Bud") of Wakeman, Janet Young (Ed) of Berlin Hts, Jill Haston (Terry) of Vermilion, Norma Emery (Ron) of Vermilion and Jayson Samons (Sharon) of Norwalk; his grandchildren, Jay, Shelly, Tammy, Derek, Angela, Terry Jr., Jennifer, Jeffrey and Missy; and his sister Denna Sielke. He is also survived by many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
The family suggests memorial contributions to Little Edna Old Regular Baptist Church, 5160 Bond Ave., Sheffield Twp..
