With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Patricia Schlaerth of Vandalia, Ohio, born in Buffalo, New York, who passed away on January 25, 2024 at the age of 80. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Anthony Vallee and Ellen Vallee; and her husband Robert Schlaerth. She is survived by: her son Michael Schlaerth; her daughter-in-law Elaine Zamonski; her daughter Amy; her son-in-law Derek Albert; her grandchildren, Sydney, Ethan, Veronica, Katherine and Mira; her sister Kathleen; and her siblings-in-law, Thomas Uebler and Deborah Kaufman. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Pat's memory to The Hospice of Dayton, Ohio.

“Belatedly, I send my deepest sympathy to my friend Pat’s family. She and I were colleagues at Sinclair Community College. She was always kind and encouraging as well as generous. I especially appreciated her uncomplicated approach to life and taking things as they came at work. We shared Christian faith and are both adoptive parents. After I took another job elsewhere, I enjoyed seeing her at Christmas gatherings with Sinclair colleagues. Oh and her daughter Amy had my hubby for German at UD.”
