He is survived by: his wife Patricia Summitt (Cox); his daughter Michelle Joiner (Summitt); his grandson Logan Joiner (Brianna); and his siblings, Frances Vance (Summitt) of Anderson and Gordon T. Summitt, Jr. of Plano, Texas. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews.
