He was predeceased by: his wife Debby Hept (Horn); his parents, Robert Hept and Evelyn Hept (Chitwood); and his sisters, Wanda Gaylor and Roberta Darner.
He is survived by: his children, Shonda Malik (Shahid), Corey Hept (Kari) and Teresa Reddick (Ricardo); his sisters, Marylou Collins and Sharon Blakeman; and his grandchildren, Isa, Idris, Ilyas, Ibrahim Malik, Shelby, Will, Lilly, Eddy Hept, Leah, Nick and Riley Reddick.
