He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles William and Grace Helen Pontsler (Sharp); and his siblings, Stanley, Eugene, Don Pontsler and Wanda Wenner.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley Pontsler of Van Wert; his son Doug Pontsler (Cinda) of Monclova Township, Ohio; his grandchildren, Andrea Donley (Ryan), Ryan Pontsler (Sarah) and Aaron Pontsler (Colleen); his great grandchildren, Maizy, Grace Donley, David, Nathan, Noah, Theo Pontsler and Graham Pontsler; and his brothers, Lee Pontsler (Londa) of Van Wert and Glenn Pontsler (Marcile) of Jefferson, Georgia..
