He was predeceased by: his parents, Gordon Laurel and Betty Rose Hauter (Davis); his great grandchild Samantha Grace Hauter; and his siblings, Gary Eugene Hauter, Evelyn M. Heare, Carolyn Sue Hauter and Martha Grimm.
He is survived by: his wife Della Kathryn Sheets; his children, Tony Hauter (Holli) of Van Wert, Tracy Ruger (Gene) of Van Wert and Terry Hauter (Kirsten) of Van Wert; his grandchildren, Anthony Hauter (Kala), Kiley Wortman, Katie Hauter, Tyler Ruger (Lauren), Nathan Ruger, Allison Hauter, Natalie Hauter and Jakob Hauter; his siblings, Roy Hauter (Pat) of Convoy, Rose Jenkins of Decatur and Kay Hauter of Lexington; and his brother-in-law Mike Sheets (Marie) of Van Wert.
Preferred memorials are to the First Baptist Church or the American Heart Association.
