She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward Gerald and Anna Cecilia Shaffer (Rhuby); her spouse Gale F. Burley; and her siblings, Edward Vensel, Richard Frieberge, William Shaffer, Clara Nicely, Florence Antus, Janet Monroe, Betty Ireland, Louise Pollock and Dolly Clouse.
She is survived by: her daughters, Shirley Shreve (Del) of Van Wert and Debra Wessell of Van Wert; her sisters, Grace Kaufman of Pennsylvania and Patricia Yerty of Pennsylvania; her grandson Brian Shreve (Amy) of Fort Wayne; her sisters, Tricia Voors (Jim) of Van Wert and Tracy Spieth of Van Wert; her great grandchildren, Noah Jordan Spector of Van Wert and Evan Ryan Spieth of Van Wert; and her grandson Austin Voors of Fort Wayne. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Ruth's memory may be sent to St. Mark's Lutheran Church or the American Cancer Society.
