He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles E. Barnes and Helen D. Barnes (French); his stepsons, Vincent Murphy and Shane Murphy; and his brothers, Charles Barnes and Jack Barnes.
He is survived by: his wife Sharon Barnes; his stepchildren, John Murphy (Chelsea), Allan Murphy (Lynette) and Katina Murphy; and his siblings, Clarence Barnes (Dorothy) of East Hampton, Paul Barnes (Gina) of Decatur, Donna Dillman (George) of Bluffton, Indiana, Sue Weaver of Bluffton, Indiana and Cathy Oswalt (Max) of Bluffton, Indiana. He is also survived by numerous step grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
