He is survived by: his wife Carolee Schnelker; his children, Diane Kill (Gary) of Van Wert, Dave Horner of Springfield, OH and Donna Thomas (David) of Convoy; his grandchildren, Andy Kill, Amy Taylor of Van Wert, Adam Kill (Sarah), Alex Thomas of Fort Wayne, IN and Nick Thomas of Lima; and his great grandchildren, Noah, Eileen Kill of Fort Wayne and Zayn Taylor of Van Wert.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Richard's memory may be sent to the Van Wert County Humane Society.
