He was predeceased by: his granddaughter Sarah Harter; his siblings, Dale Harter and Bonnie Schaadt; and his sons-in-law, DeWayne Tumblin and Don Burgei.
He is survived by: his spouse Virginia "Ginny" Scott; his children, Sheryl Tumblin-Burgei of Ft. Jennings, Carol Lininger (Gary) of Van Wert, Jana Ringwald (Roy) of Van Wert, Karen Ashley (Robert) of New Braunfels and Donald Harter (Kim) of Ohio City; his grandchildren, Katie Lininger, Melissa McKean (James), Michelle Menke (Matt), Matthew Tumblin, Jessica Armstrong (Eric), Emily Sill (Trevor), Cally Lange (Tim), Hope Ringwald, Mitchell Ringwald, Megan Ashley, Mike Burgei (Jennifer) and Angela Pettinger (Tom); and his great grandchildren, Alexandra Lininger, Jimmie McKean, Carson McKean, Kennedi McKean, Kaylee Lange, Grace Lange, Oliver Sill, Gabryelle Sill, Hayzell Sill, Dylan Armstrong, Corbyn Armstrong, Elizabeth Armstrong, Abigail Pettinger, Samantha Pettinger, Joey Pettinger, Naomi Pettinger, Brandt Menke, Calvin Menke, Stella Menke, William Burgei and Victoria Burgei.
