He was predeceased by: his parent Marlin Aaron; his siblings, Marvin K. Kever and Jean Speelman; his grandson Evan Kever; and his son-in-law Glenn Gehres.

He is survived by: his parent Cleo Esther Kever (Ramsey); his spouse Janet M. Slane; his children, Michelle "Chelle" Gehres of Convoy and Greg Kever (Tami) of Versailles, Kentucky; his grandchildren, Justin Gehres (Amanda), Jared Gehres (Angie), Courtney Gehres (Chris Ashton), Sam Kever and Andy Kever; and his great grandchildren, Ryan, Parker, Gavin, Elijah and Graceson Gehres.
