It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Janet Hiegel of Van Wert, Ohio, born in Oakwood, Ohio, who passed away on November 5, 2020, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Ray Rickner and Ara Rickner (Hitchcock); her husband Charles E. Hiegel; her daughter Lori Schaffner; and her sisters, Alice Robnolte and Carolyn Shalter.

She is survived by: her children, Amy Wermer (Kevin) of Medina, Ohio and Mark Hiegel (Michele) of Van Wert; her grandchildren, C. J. Hiegel (Ashley Parrish), Courtney Feasby (Craig), Shannon Kies (Matt), Lauryn Berry (Dennis), Cory Compton (Miranda) and Leevi Barrientos (Lauren); and her brother Raymond Rickner of Van Wert. She is also survived by 15 great grandchildren.
