She was predeceased by: her parents, Carl M. Sheets and Mary L. Sheets (Bebout); her spouse Thomas Eugene Bates; her son Jonathan Allen Bates; her granddaughter Hannah Ellen Bates; and her sister Betty Carter.
She is survived by: her children, Timothy Bates (Elaine) of Van Wert, Jeff Bates (Michelle) of Van Wert and Susan Kientz of Delphos; her brother Jim Sheets (Sandy) of Van Wert; her grandchildren, Thaddeus, Elias, Chelsea, Whitney, Samuel of Karri, J. C. and Molly; and her great grandchildren, Harper, Tucker, Breckin, Brynn, Amidy, Ayden, Zayden, Journee, Jaxson, Violet, Scarlet Belle, Ellie, Mason, Aniyah and Ariel.
Preferred memorials are to the Alzheimer's Association.
