He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur H. Bauer and Marie B. Bauer (Schmidgall); his siblings, Robert Bauer, Herbert "Barney" Bauer, Lucille Hulwick and Florence Stuckey; and his grandson Matthew Eddy.
He is survived by: his former wife Gloria June Carlo; his wife D. Jeannette Showalter Bauer (Ralston); his children, Bruce A. Bauer (Pam) of Ft. Wayne, Karen Eddy (Mark) of Grover Hill and Beth Wilson (Scott) of Ft. Wayne; his stepdaughter Sue Bowersox (Keith) of Van Wert; his grandchildren, Emilie Bishop (Mike), Geoff Bauer, Ben Eddy (Katie), Aaron Eddy (Cheryl) and Katie Wilson (Ray Tountzios); his sister Gloraine Stelzer of Defiance; and his stepgrandson Ronald L. Krick (Virginia).
Preferred memorials are to St. Marks Lutheran Church.
