It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Gary Robert Deerwester of Van Buren, Ohio, who passed away on December 17, 2021, at the age of 68, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert V. Deerwester and L. Pauline Deerwester (Folk); his daughter Heather Deerwester; his granddaughter Kelsey McSwiggin; his sister Charlene Babcock; and his niece Hillary Johnsen.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara Kear Miller; his children, Torie Miller-McSwiggin (Casey Dannenfelser) of Cincinnati and Joseph Miller of Van Buren; his grandson Seamus Nolan McSwiggin; his siblings, Karen Fitzpatrick, Sharon Costello and Neil McAlexander; and his grandson Seamus Nolan.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The Root Bears You, P.O. Box 264, Van Buren, Ohio 45889, an outreach ministry that Gary helped facilitate, and/or Three Sisters Pet Rescue - Ohio Hound Rescue, the group that united Cliff with his forever family.
