He was predeceased by: his parents, William Oscar and Orma Armstrong (Wagner); his wife Louise Nitchman; and his siblings, Ella Knull, Helen Boring, Eloise Shaffer, Betty Thornton and Charles Armstrong.
He is survived by: his daughters, Sharon Runkle of Terre Haute and Pam Kizer (Bryan) of Urbana; and his grandchildren, Chad Runkle (Michelle), Carrie Taylor, Braden Kizer (Lizzy) and Brett Kizer (Natalie). He is also survived by eleven great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
