He was predeceased by: his parents, Orvin Honchell and Geneva Honchell (Brandenburg); his wife Barbara Honchell; his son Michael Honchell; and his sister Marilyn Honchell.
He is survived by: his children, Laurie Shafer and Gregory Honchell; his grandchildren, Karl, Daniel Shafer, Wade, Abbi (David Couch) and Chloe Honchell; and his siblings, Kenneth Honchell (Linda) and Becky Godfrey (Donald). He is also survived by nine great grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, January 29th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Vernon Funeral Home (235 Miami St, Urbana, OH 43078). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, January 29th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
